CPT Tara Santon is originally from Columbia, Maryland. She graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship and a minor in Joint Military Studies. She commissioned in May 2014 as a Second Lieutenant and Field Artillery officer.
She attended the Field Artillery Basic Officer Leader Course at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Upon graduation, she attended the Joint Fires Obeserver course. She was then assigned to Steel Squadron, 3rd Cavalry Regiment at Fort Hood, Texas. She served as a Fire Support Officer, Firing Platoon Leader, Fire Direction Officer, and Assistant Fire Support Officer.
She graduated Captain’s Career Course in September 2018. She was assigned to 1-38 Field Artillery Regiment, 210 Field Artillery Brigade at Camp Casey, South Korea. She served as the Battalion S4 and then assumed command of Bravo Battery, 1-38 FAR in May 2019.
She currently serves as a Military Science Instructor and resides in the Bloomington area with her husband Steven and their three dogs.
