Mr. Chester M. Ciudad (aka Mr. C) is a retired Army Master Sergeant with 26 years of service in the Air Defense Branch from 1981 to 2007. Mr. C’s education include a number of Army Non-Commissioned Officers courses, the Air Assault School, an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, and a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration.
During Mr. Ciudad’s military career, he served at duty stations from West Germany throughout the 1980s, numerous stateside installations, Hawaii and South Korea. His combat experiences include: Operation “Just Cause”, Panama (’89-‘90) and “Operation “Enduring Freedom” & Operation “Iraqi Freedom” (‘03-’04). He held numerous key positions in the Army such as Team Leader, Section Sergeant, PLDC Instructor, Platoon Sergeant, Observer Controller Trainer, S-2 NCOIC and First Sergeant. His last assignment was the Senior Military Science Instructor at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, IL.
Mr. Ciudad’s military awards include Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3), Army Commendation Medal (5) and Army Achievement Medal (17) to name a few.
Upon Mr. Ciudad’s military retirement, he was employed in numerous jobs such as an AT&T technician & installer, US Post Office mail handler, government contract instructor for Army ROTC and ROTC Curriculum Writer for US Army Cadet Command.
Currently, Mr. Ciudad is the Human Resource Assistant for Indiana University Army ROTC.
