CPT Jacob Davel hails from Port Washington, WI. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh where he commissioned through the ROTC program and earned a BS in Biology-Healthcare Sciences. CPT Davel commissioned in January of 2015.
After completing Engineer Basic Officer Leader course his first duty station was Schofield Barracks, Hi where he briefly served in Alpha company 65th BEB. After moving to the 130th Engineer Brigade, he was assigned to the 84th Engineer Battalion and the 95th Sapper Company where he served as a platoon Leader for 13 Months. This also included a rotation as a member of Task Force Ready to Camp Humphreys, ROK, upon completion of his Platoon Leader Time CPT Davel was assigned as the Executive Officer for the 561st Engineer Construction Company, for 7 months.
After Competing and placing 4th in the 2017 Best Sapper Competition, CPT Davel PCS’d to Fort Leonard Wood, Mo where he briefly served as the Executive Officer for the Fitness Training Unit 43rd AG BN. He was then selected as the Executive Officer of Sapper training Company and the U.S. Army Sapper Leader Course. He served as the Executive officer for 22 months before attending Engineer Captains Career Course. Once complete he served as the Engineer Basic officer Leader Course Phase 1 Officer in Charge for 5 months. In May 2020 CPT Davel took command of Sapper Training Company where he served as a Company Commander for 15 months. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Military Science at IU.
CPT Davel’s military education consists of Engineer Captains Career Course. Basic Officer Leader Course. Sapper Leader Course, Ranger School, Pathfinder School, Rappel Master course, Air Assault.
CPT Davel’s awards and decoration include: Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medals (20LC), Army Achievement Medal (10LC), National Defense Service Medal, Global war of Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2 Devices) Army Superior unit award (95th Sapper Company), Sapper Tab, Ranger Tab, Pathfinder Torch, Air Assault Badge, Senior Army Instructor Badge, German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (Gold) and the Steel order of the De ‘Fleury.
CPT Davel is married to CPT Kathryn Davel and they have three daughters
